Our DiabloM6 magnetic phone mount requires a thin metal plate affixed to the back of your phone. Please note that this also prevents Wireless Charging. The DiabloM6 is not directly compatible with MagSafe equipped iPhones. The metal plate may not stick to all phone cases. For example, many silicone cases have non-stick properties that may not work with the metal plate.
The phone mount works great. I installed on a 2022 Ford XL model it doesn’t have the front speaker so just a tray. I actually cut the rubber tray to fit around the mounts. So far it’s worked out great stays in place rough back roads doesn’t affect it. I also installed one in my personal F 250 it’s work great also.
You can save a few dollars and order without the phone mounts like I did. Needed a mount for my CB and this worked great.
The materials are well-made out of metal. It gives me the impression that it will last.
The reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating was the lack of detail in the instructions. For example, assembling the balls after mounting the grid to the car deck was difficult. This was due to the position of attaching the bolts, washers, and screws. I had to do some creative manipulation and handling of bolts and screws. I didn't install the washers because it couldn't be done.
Other, than the assembly portion (which was frustrating), it looks great and is incredibly solid.
